Welcome to Opinion Cove, the cozy Internet spot I dreamt up to voice my opinions, make observations, muse, ramble, or whatever, on what is happening back on Da Rock, in my life, or worldwide.

A Newfoundlander, I, like tens of thousands of other Newfoundlanders, had to leave my beautiful island home in order to obtain steady and meaningful employment. 

While I was away from home, I kept up on current events back home via Internet news site such as VOCM and CBC - NF & LAB. This gave me a somewhat detached view of happenings back home, and allowed me to be more objective and, in many cases, not have emotional bias that can cloud the clarity needed to analyze and quantify a news story.  Now that I am back on da Rock, I find that, for some reason, I still have that detached (outsider) view.

Here at Opinion Cove, I take news stories from da Rock, or even worldwide if there is a Newfoundland impact, and make my comments or opinions against those stories. From time-to-time, I get a little foolish and write up a humorous story to get folks going (its my column, so I am allowed to do that).

After you read my articles, you'll have the opportunity to post your own rebuttal. I acknowledge that I am not always right in my comments, and so I want to give you the chance to argue with me. If someone presents a valid opposing argument, I may even change my mind (see the light) and agree with you.

So, Opinion Cove is as much a place for your opinions as mine.
